Context

ISSPAM aims to synergize and leverage existing public health strengths on the Aix-Marseille site. Its Research and Training missions are marked by a commitment to two main themes: social and territorial inequalities in health, and methods in public health sciences. ISSPAM's three priority areas of activity are: (i) characterization of population health and sources of vulnerability, (ii) interactions between the healthcare system and populations, and (iii) health mediation actions and practices.

Through its two themes and three priority areas, ISSPAM aims to (i) develop structuring projects acting as project incubators, (ii) disseminate knowledge with spin-offs for decision-making in public health, (iii) federate MSEC players in public health at regional and national level in a research-action/training dynamic, and (iv) assert its thematic specificities at national and international level.

Call for projects: Co-financing a post-doctoral contract

The "Co-financing of a post-doctoral contract" call for projects aims to support young graduates in Public Health sciences in obtaining a post-doctoral research contract.

The aim is to enable a post-doctoral student to join one of ISSPAM's teams from October onwards, for a 12-month period. This grant will contribute up to 50% of the co-funding of the post-doctoral student, as part of a project co-constructed with a partner who will also provide at least 50% co-funding.

ISSPAM's aim is to formalize and structure institutional collaborations with selected academic, socio-economic, associative, cultural or civil society players.

The person recruited on this contract must have obtained his/her doctorate less than 3 years ago in France, outside Aix Marseille Université, or abroad.

It is not compulsory to have identified the person to be recruited when submitting the application.

Evaluation criteria

Evaluation criteria will focus on

  • Link with ISSPAM themes and priorities
  • Relevance of the research project requiring the recruitment of a post-doctoral fellow, and of the partnership envisaged (relevance of the partnership, complementarity, expected effects) in relation to ISSPAM's priority and strategic areas.

A scientific committee, made up of members of the Board and the Training and Research Steering Committee, with the possible support of external experts, will evaluate and select the projects.
